RUDN and Shahid Beheshti University(SBU) chemist suggested an eco friendly technique for the synthesis of pyrrole and pyrazole derivatives with a vast range of applications in medicine: from antidepressants into anti inflammatory. Moreover, the synthesized compounds possess interesting fluorescence attributes, and the bioactive scaffolds may attract great interest in the fields of clinical diagnostics and biomedical research in the long run. The results are published in the Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry.

Heterocyclic compounds expose remarkable chemistry with important applications in medicinal and organic chemistry, industry, and pharmaceutical. These chemicals are frequently found in many all-natural products like hormones, vitamins, antibiotics, alkaloids, herbicides, pigments, and dyes. Anyway, a wide array of heterocyclic rings is originated from the scaffolds of various drugs and bioactive molecules. One of them, pyrrole and pyrazole are heterocycles using a wide biological activity. They are part of medication for treating cancer, depression and headaches, relieving inflammation and a number of different diseases. A number of them demonstrate fluorescent properties, and therefore they can be utilized for clinical investigation, for example, cancer. However, the synthesis of compounds with these heterocycles remains non eco-friendly and pricey. It needs high temperatures and toxic compounds. The RUDN and SBU chemist and his colleagues from Tehran-Iran indicated a safer and cheaper way to create pyrrole and pyrazole derivatives.
