With graphics cards being extremely hot commodities lately, squeezing out more functionality out of your present GPU is more significant than ever. Fantastic news! Nvidia recently introduced an automated performance tuning characteristic to its GeForce Experience applications that can increase the speed of your GeForce RTX 20-series or 30-series graphics card (if you’re fortunate enough to have one) with one click. This free tool allows you maximize the already-great performance of modern GeForce GPUs.

Manual overclocking has always been a market for enthusiasts, and not everyone would like to tinker with their expensive (even more so today!) Graphics card in fear of potential destroy. Worry not with Nvidia’s solution–however if you are an SLI multi-GPU afficionado, look elsewhereas this solution only supports a single graphics card currently.

Here’s how to automatically overclock your GeForce graphics card using Nvidia’s performance tuning feature.

How to use Nvidia performance tuning

You do not need much to take advantage of Nvidia’s automatic overclocking instrument:

Before you begin, ensure you have the latest version of Nvidia’s GeForce Experience applications and the latest Game Ready driver. Once those are installed, open GFE, visit its Settings (the gear icon next to your username ), and be sure the”In-game overlay” option is enabled.

Next, it is time to install Nvidia’s automatic overclocking. Press Alt + Z to summon GFE’s overlay, then click on the Performance option towards the right of your screen. Nvidia’s Performance panel will appear. Near the centre you will see the option to”Enable automatic tuning.” Click here and also the performance tuning process will begin. Note it can take some time as the program assesses your GPU with”an advanced scanning algorithm,” however, the tool will show you a progress bar as it scans.

After it finishes, GeForce Experience will automatically tune your GPU and increase your performance. Do notice that anytime your GPU is tuned, there’s a chance it can be unstable in certain games or programs, though we haven’t experienced any issues with Nvidia’s conservative automated overclocking success. If you encounter any issues, simply reset the tuning and try again. Otherwise, it is a straightforward one-click speed increase.

Nvidia provides few more options within the Performance window if you’d like to take your tuning further, such as increasing power limits or fever target. All that will be able to enable you to squeeze some more performance, but your mileage might vary, and tinkering with these options complicates the tuning process. Just remember that the further you push your GPU past the one-click auto scanner’s results, you may begin to find a rise in heat, power draw, and possible instability.

So what kind of performance gains can you expect from Nvidia’s performance management attribute? On a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, the scanner fostered the GPU’s increase clock with an additional 121MHz. When testing with th
